The relationship with one’s grandparents or extended family is represented by the Year Pillar in the BaZi Chart. This is also known as the Grandparents or Ancestral Palace. However the Ancestral Palace influences much more that the relationship you have with your grandparents.
The Ancestral Palace represents the overall external influences in your life. If one has a favorable element in this pillar, the relationships with the people involved and general external influences are good. This pillar is also known as the Tai Sui (Grand Duke) which essentially is the overall governing Qi that affects one’s entire life. It also represents your physical external body. This Palace also represents the external environment of the vicinity of your home.
