Strength of the Elements

Recall the Productive, Controlling and Weakening cycles, the Strength of the Day Master is determined by its strength in relation to the Seasonal QI.

To determine the strength of the elements, recite the mantra: In season, in location, in formation. When the day master is prosperous, we control, when strong, we weaken, when trapped, we release, when dead, we resurrect.

In this lesson, students will learn from Joey Yap the criteria of strength of the elements in a BaZi Chart. The strength or intensity of the elements determines the strength of the chart. Too strong a chart or too weak a chart will have negative effects in a BaZi Chart analysis.

Students will learn from Joey Yap as he demonstrates how the strength of the elements differs in different seasons and cycles. This is crucial to allow students have a clearer understanding on how the elements interact with the criteria.

Objectives:
At the end of this Lesson, students will be able to:

• Identify, understand and relate role played by each element in the cycles and season in determining the strength of the elements
• Identify the criteria and how to relate a certain element in a chart to determine its strength
• Relate and apply the mantra: In season, In location, In formation to know the intensity of the elements
