Stems and Branches in Chinese Astrology: The 12 Earthly Branches
The Earthly Branches provides a system for reckoning time in Chinese Astrology. When it comes to counting years, months, days and hours in BaZi, the 12 Animal Signs corresponds strictly to one Earthly Branch.
The 12 Earthly Branch is also known as the 12 Animal Signs in the Chinese Calendar System. Just the 12 Heavenly Stems are the prevailing QI, the Earthly Branches are base the stems rest on. This is the foundation, body and flesh of the person.
