What’s in a Face? Everything.
In today’s world, time is a luxury few of us have. Decisions have to be made, and time and deadlines aren’t usually very generous – if at all – nowadays.
So you meet someone. It could be in the corporate boardroom, at the maidservant’s agency, or even a car dealer or an opponent in a game of tennis. It could be anywhere and anyone. How would you know the type of character you are dealing with, or how much potential this person may have?
Look at his or her Face…and Read it.
If It’s Worth Doing, It’s Worth Doing Well.
Admit it or not, Face Reading is something that we practice everyday – whether consciously or subconsciously. It’s actually something inborn, something inherent in virtually every human being on this planet. After all, the face is usually the most exposed part of our body, and as the saying goes: First impressions can indeed be lasting ones!
In the study of Chinese Metaphysics, your face is more than what you show the world. It is also an extrinsic and intrinsic map of your life, from the cradle to the grave. Who you really are, where your strengths and weaknesses lie, what destiny holds in store for you…these and many more are actually mirrored in your face.
We learn Face Reading not to prejudge others but rather, to understand the people we encounter as we journey through life. That’s why it is so important for us to master proper Face Reading techniques that allow us accurate deductions - in order that we do justice to others, and ourselves by not misjudging them!
Words can deceive, resumes can be exaggerated, and credentials and even BaZi (Destiny Analysis) Charts can be faked.
But the Face simply does NOT lie.

Where Face Reading Comes Alive.
Used by emperors and commoners alike to size up friends and foes instantly, Face Reading has a long, illustrious history spanning more than 4 millennia. Whether it is used as a supplement for classical Feng Shui and BaZi, or the first tool you pull out of your proverbial sleeve, Face Reading enables you to make informed decisions about other people and interact with them with more confidence.
In Module 1 of the Mian Xiang Mastery Series, you learnt the fundamentals essential for effective, accurate Face Reading. You were also introduced to important concepts such as facial shapes, features and contours. Everything that was learnt in Module 1 basically geared you up to delve deeper into the finer points of Face Reading – namely, the 100 Year Map of the Face.
And this is where Module 2 comes in: Practical Face Reading. In a nutshell, Module 2 builds upon the knowledge students have acquired in Module 1, with particular reference to the 100 Year Map of the Face (i.e. the 100 Positions). Crucial contents and techniques detailed in Mian Xiang classics such as the Shen Xiang Quan Pian 神相全篇 and Shen Xiang Tie Guan Dao 神相鐵關刀 are extracted and shared with students in simple terminology and language, to allow students to gain a more profound insight into what they learn.
You can expect an in-depth discourse on topics such as Stars, Mountains, Rivers, Mansions, Academic Halls, Veins and Meridian Paths. Your instructor will also guide you on a detailed analysis of the 5 Officers, before you take the actual plunge into Practical Face Reading. With the four specific aspects of Character, Relationships, Career and Health Analyses covered, faces will never look the same to you again…once you step out of the classroom! |

Why Face Reading?
Yes, appearances can be deceiving, but then again, ask yourself: Do you really know what to look for in the face of the person you’ve just met?
A Brief History
Mian Xiang classics such as Shen Xiang Quan Pian, Shen Xiang Tie Guan Dao, Ma Yi and Liu Zhuang document the observations of thousands of years by the ancients. Such specialized studies have culminated in the immensely accurate and even highly technical science we know today as Face Reading.
In ancient China, imperial court advisers used Face Reading as one of the most important means towards identifying the most suitable candidates possible for key governmental positions. Likewise, visiting dignitaries and rival kings were subjected to the same ‘acid test’, before validated advice was dispensed to the emperor.
Face Reading falls under the category of the study of Physiognomy and perhaps, the name ‘Face Reading’ doesn’t really do this ancient science justice. It must be noted that the Chinese were not the only ones to develop this art – the ancient Greeks
sought to study the mysteries of the face as well. The distinctive difference between Chinese and Western face reading techniques, is that Chinese Face Reading not only analyzes character and personality traits, but recognizes the face as a virtual map of a person’s Destiny, Fortune and Luck as well. |

Supplementing BaZi & Classical Feng Shui
Your BaZi (Four Pillars of Destiny) is set at birth, and is essentially a Destiny Map of what life has in store for you. By knowing our BaZi, we are able to identify challenges and opportunities, and plan our actions accordingly. BaZi, however, pertains to Early Heaven Luck as it is something that has already been determined for us from our time of birth. But in the study of Chinese Metaphysics, the Cosmic Trinity concept dictates that we are as equally responsible as Heaven and Earth as to how we end up viewing our lives, at the end of the day.
What this means is our actions – or inactions – influence the outcome of things as we go through life. And this is all reflected in our facial expressions and features. Uncanny as this may seem, Face Reading does play an important role in counter-checking the effectiveness of BaZi readings and classical Feng Shui applications. After all, Face Reading relates to Later Heaven Luck – the things in life we are actually able to exert control over.
