Dear Joey
They say "a picture paints a thousand words"¡¨ but those who said it hadn't met you. Because each words you say paints a thousand pictures! It is an honor privilege to learn from you. Sherry Merchant, India

San Francisco's home & decor designer community was treated by The Luxury Marketing Council to an exclusive luncheon and presentation featuring Joey Yap on the 25th of August 2008. Held at Tansu Design in the renowned San Francisco Design Center (SFDC), the event was sponsored by Anne Thull Fine Art Designs and took place over the duration of 2 hours from 12 to 2 PM. It was certainly a beautiful and unique location for Joey's presentation on "Feng Shui Explained," as the SFDC is a showplace cum gallery that houses over 100 showrooms carrying over 2,000 manufacturers of products for interior home design and furniture.
Joey's talk illuminated the finer points of Classical Feng Shui, dispelling the myths some may have had about Feng Shui being all about the wind chimes and money toads placed in every corner of the house. He began with an introduction on what Feng Shui actually is, before going into a detailed explanation as to how it can be used in the construction and design of up market, upscale, and luxurious urban dwellings and buildings. He cited examples from ancient Chinese history to further draw out his points, highlighting the ancient buildings and cities that had incorporated Feng Shui into their architecture to positive effect without sacrificing aesthetic sensibility or beauty.
Combining history with professional anecdotes, Joey kept the audience of luxury designers and decorators entertained and informed over the course of the 2-hour period. It was an intimate and warm setting that fostered many pleasant exchanges between the participants and Joey, leading to the formation of new ties that will surely benefit all involved.
