| June 24th 2007-Sydney, Australia Perhaps, it was a promise made in February, that made Sydney-dwellers brave the Australian midwinter chill, which certainly couldn’t be easily ignored on that Sunday morning. And as they milled around the luxurious Star City Resort’s Ballroom in downtown Sydney, many having come earlier to avoid the crowds, they were quick to spot his latest book; Personal Date Selection, which they promptly proceeded to make a beeline for.
Excited chatter and laughter filled the air, as greetings and salutations were exchanged between participants and the Mastery Academy Australia team who recognized the many familiar faces – the chilly temperatures quickly dissipated by the warmth of the gathering. Everything looked set for a great day, and a great show.
Finally…show time, as Joey Yap took to the stage without delay. When the applause had abated, Joey expressed his gratitude to his audience for their support, and immediately got down to the business at hand: Sharing with them more tips and advice, specifically tailored to ensure good Feng Shui for Homes & Offices – as was the topic of this particular seminar. To know something and do it are two different things altogether, and participants learnt both as they listened to pointers as to how they may harness the Qi of their residences and workplaces, to help them succeed in life. With curious faces, they paid rapt attention to the common myths and misconceptions about the application of Classical Feng Shui, which were debunked and clarified by Joey. Cues and tips on the utilization of certain sectors within a home and office were duly noted, with the audience joining in every now and then, in response to the amusing yet `illustrational’ anecdotes shared with them. And even during the tea and lunch breaks that ensued, many participants approached Joey to pose their queries to him, which he was only happy to clarify for them. Many amongst them had signed up for Joey’s Sydney Feng Shui Excursion course (the 1st of its kind to be ever organized in Australia), which would see him taking them to audit real-life prominent landmarks around the city on June 30th. Meanwhile, some took the opportunity to sign up for his inaugural Water Feng Shui Class, to be held on the 29th in Sydney at the Holiday Inn. The second tea break gave many participants an opportunity to have Joey autograph their books and meet him in person, just to say `hello’. Many of his old students also caught up with him during the tea breaks. It was truly an entertaining and educational outing for participants, as they acquired knowledge on how to tap into the useful energies within their properties to aid them in specific endeavors, whilst avoiding the pitfalls brought about by negative Qi. Australians are renowned, to their credit, for their candid, `no-frills’ approach, and `no-frills’ they received, as key facets such as Relationships, Health and Wealth – and how to make these work - were shared with them. Before drawing the curtains on his seminar, Joey once again emphasized to his listeners that Feng Shui isn’t about terrifying or mystifying people, but rather, about allowing us to understand the natural energies within our environment, better. And when we are able to do that, he reasoned out, we are able to harness these energies, to maximize our chances of success in each and every endeavor we undertake.Reported by K.W. Tan
