RAVE REVIEWS

Thank you for sharing your passion Joey! I enjoy your teaching very much. I like your style –to make us think for ourselves, to question and to understand. I like this approach of not blindly accepting what a Master has said. I hope to know as much as you one day! And the best things is that I know you want me to be so too. May you receive a thousand blessings.

Feng Shui Mastery Series™ Module 4 - Kuala Lumpur
10th November 2006 - 16th November 2006

Veni, Vidi, Vinci. With these three words, Julius Caesar immortalized himself in both history and literature.

Aptly translated as `I came, I saw, I conquered’, this perhaps best describes the sentiments of those who attended Joey Yap’s `Feng Shui Module 4’ course, held from November 10th to 16th, 2006 in Kuala Lumpur. They came from all corners of the world; some from as far as the United States, Europe and South Africa. Nevertheless, they converged upon Kuala Lumpur for a purpose, and left with that purpose fulfilled: To master the intricacies of advanced Feng Shui techniques.

Put simply, Feng Shui is a study on how Qi – the invisible yet omnipotent and omnipresent force that binds all living and naturally occurring things in this universe – interacts with and affects us. Having studied Modules 1 to 3 under Joey’s careful guidance, these experienced Feng Shui practitioners and students were keen to build upon the knowledge they had amassed earlier. Module 4 was next on their list, and the time had come to begin! As may well be expected, excitement and eagerness were plainly written on their faces, as they took their places in the classroom, on the first day.

Now, a theory is only as useful as its capability of being applied to real-life situations. Recognizing this fact, Joey personally shared his knowledge of advanced landform theories to his students, pausing every now and then to address the practicality and applicability of each theory, in practice. As the students were already well versed with important Feng Shui concepts and practices, Joey encountered virtually no problems in sharing with them the contents and interpretation of classical Feng Shui texts, which only had them yearning to try them out in real-life!

Pragmatic and hands-on in approach, Joey then led students on a field study to all-new spots specially identified for this Module 4. These included the Semenyih Memorial Hills Park, the exclusive Leisure Farm residential properties, the Northpoint Office Suites in Mid-Valley City, the Lagenda Mas residential properties, and the gated residential properties of Armanee Terrace in Damansara, developed by MK Land. This diverse repertoire of landforms presented the students with a unique opportunity – and challenge - of conducting Feng Shui audits at different types of locations.

At the Semenyih Memorial Hills Park, students were able to study and analyze the type of Qi that made this tranquil piece of land a unique burial park with powerful Feng Shui potentials. After all, a well-planned burial spot – Feng Shui-wise – is capable of influencing the fortunes of a person’s descendants! Sprawling across a beautifully landscaped area of 100 acres, this audit proved to be both a challenge and treat for the students – it is not often that such an opportunity is presented as a practical case study! Being able to audit a burial park that has had Feng Shui applied to it on such a macro level really piqued everyone’s interest, and they were soon engrossed in taking critical measurements and attempting to find the meridian spots (long xue) that form the gist of the evaluation of landforms. To ensure that his students were allowed to make the most of their audit, Joey reminded them that the Feng Shui of a landform is also influenced by the quality of Incoming Dragons (i.e. hills and mountains) and formations immediately present within and beyond it.

When it came to commercial and residential properties, the Northpoint Office Suites and Armanee Terrace residences proved to be ideal training-grounds for them, as they saw for themselves how Qi can be harnessed for the well being of residents and occupants. Completing this comprehensive selection of landforms were the Leisure Farm and Lagenda Mas properties – affluent residential projects targeted at those looking for gated community living. The Leisure Farm allowed the students to literally assume the role of Feng Shui Masters, as they learnt how to advise on the selection of an ideal piece of land, by identifying the meridian spots and Incoming Dragons within the vicinity before tracing these formations to the pertinent Qi spots. Each participant immersed him or herself in identifying the types of Qi affecting each landform, before drawing up a conclusion that was later confirmed or corrected by Joey. Theory was put into practice as Joey emphasized the importance of discerning real, actual landforms that constitute Incoming Dragons, as opposed to manmade structures that are often misinterpreted to represent Incoming Dragons.

Judging from the hustle-and-bustle of things and the occasional laughter and good-humored banter, it was evident that the course participants enjoyed themselves thoroughly, as they went about conducting their Feng Shui audits of each individual spot. In ensuring that each student derived the maximum benefits from each audit, Joey also enhanced his students’ knowledge by sharing with them information from classical Feng Shui texts such as Ru Di Yan, Yu Shui Ding Zhen Jing and Xue Xin Fu.

Joey is well known amongst his students and anyone who has ever seen him `live’ in person at a seminar as a charismatic personality with a generous dosage of humor. These qualities served him well during the discussions and briefings that were always held before and after these audits. More laughter and lively exchanges followed suit, as Joey demonstrated his profound knowledge of Feng Shui in sharing and exchanging ideas and opinions with his students.

It was all stars and glitters, as Module 4 culminated in a Graduation Dinner at the glitzy KL Hilton, where certificates were presented to all participants. Some of them had opted to sit for an examination, specially prepared by Joey to conform to the highest standards, and those who successfully passed this examination were rewarded with a diploma of accreditation. There were quite a few who excelled, earning themselves a diploma with distinction, in the process.

Certainly, if a job is worth doing, it is worth doing well. Icing on the cake is when you see your students having a great time, whilst simultaneously benefiting from the experience you share with them. And perhaps, the best measure of the ability of a trainer or teacher and the success of his methods lies in the aftermath remarks of the students:

“Very practical and fantastic way of applying Feng Shui…unbelievably good!”
Linda Seck

“(An) eye opener…”
Simon Tham

So, it is safe to surmise that everyone had a whale of a time, and the Module was a resounding success!

With the Dinner, Module 4 came to an end, and every participant left with more than the technical knowledge he or she had acquired over the past 7 days. There were the friendships built over the past week, with many already planning to visit their Feng Shui brothers or sisters-in-arms from other countries. And there was Joey’s parting advice, given over dinner.

“Apply that which you’ve learnt, and remember to use it to better your life, and the lives of those around you.”
