On Saturday evening, 19th August 2006, Joey Yap was invited by his Alma Mater – the Curtin University Alumni-Kuala Lumpur Branch to delivered a talk on Mian Xiang (Face Reading) at the Equatorial Hotel in Kuala Lumpur.
The Social Night event was a get-together for Curtin University students and was held in a relaxed atmosphere. Joey had a good time meeting his old university mates and spent the time reminiscing on the good old times with many friends he had not met since his university days.
The talk itself would not have happened if a few pleasant coincidences had not taken place. A member of the organizing committee was reading Joey’s biodata and noted that he was a Curtin graduate. A couple of e-mails to Joey (who was then in Australia) and one meeting later, Joey was slated as the guest speaker for the night.
Joey’s talk took place during the Social Night event which was held after The Curtin University Alumni - Kuala Lumpur Branch’s Annual General Meeting.
Joey said to his audience that while studying at the Curtin University, he would not have imagined that one day, he would be standing in front of his university mates to deliver a talk.
The main objective of the Curtin Alumni Networks is to enable overseas or interstate alumni to maintain contact with the University and Alumni and friends in their respective regions.
Many Alumni Branches co-ordinate a number of their own events and activities that include informal networking evening golf days or day trips to promote camaraderie among Alumni members.
In addition to these events, many Branches also link into the Australian Alumni Associations and other relevant Professional Associations to provide for other valuable networking opportunities.
During his talk, Joey explained to his mates how he came to be involved in the Chinese Metaphysics industry and how the Mastery Academy worked towards achieving its vision of sharing this ancient knowledge.
