Interview on NTV 7 - 2006, Malaysia
Source: Jojo’s Ticket to Well Being

Joey Yap was featured on Jojo Struys’ `Jojo’s Ticket to Well Being’ TV show aired by NTV 7 on 24th July 2006. The focus of this show was the Feng Shui analysis of a house to give viewers a better understanding of important Feng Shui aspects of a residential property.

In analyzing the Feng Shui of a property, Joey explained that the first thing that needed to be done was analyzing the environment because that is where the Qi comes from. “Feng Shui is about tapping into the Qi of the environment to benefit the residents of the property,” he said.

“There are two important factors that need to be considered and they are the water and the hills. In an urban environment, water will mean the roads and the hills are the higher ground. Any place or buildings higher than your house are considered as hills,” Joey added.

In evaluating the internal environment, Joey noted that the three important factors that needed to be considered are the location and direction of the Main Door, Kitchen and Bedrooms.

Joey said the Main door is the most important feature of a house because it is the Qi mouth where all the positive and negative energies from the external environment are passing through.

He said the direction and location of the Main Door needed to be suitable to the Gua number of the residents of the property. Gua is the Feng Shui reference number of an individual derived from a person’s date of birth and is divided into eight groups consisting of four positive and four negative directions.

The Kitchen, he told Jojo, is the second most important aspect to consider in analyzing the Feng Shui. The location and direction of the stove in the kitchen is the core issue that needs to be ascertained. He later explained the importance of placing the stove in the Kitchen correctly as the Kitchen affects the health of the residents.

Finally, Joey showed Jojo the how the analysis of bedrooms is done. He said the analysis of the bedroom involve the location and direction of the bedroom and location and direction of the bed. “When sleeping which is a Yin activity, you want to have it (the bed) back against the wall which is a Yin feature,” said Joey.
