Early Health Detection via Face Reading Still a Hit

May 29, 2011

After the success of the first Faces of Sickness Workshop on May 19, 2011, Joey Yap kicked off a second round of the same workshop over the weekend, as promised, due to the overwhelming response on this subject. This workshop was held at The Boulevard Hotel, Mid Valley City, Kuala Lumpur, at 11.30am.

Health has been a growing concern of many in this day and age, which is why it was unsurprising to find people wanting to learn more ways to detect early signs of illnesses. Prevention is better than cure, as the saying goes. Thus, Joey believed it is important for everyone to be able to read some tell-tale signs of sickness using the art of Mian Xiang or Chinese Face Reading.

During the hour-long Sunday morning workshop, Joey started off with a quick introduction on the background of Mian Xiang, which was initially used to assess illnesses in ancient times. This skill of diagnosis is still used by Chinese medicine practitioners today.

The participants were taught the basics on ways to differentiate between good and bad facial features based on shape, fleshiness, indentation, and moles, scars and lines. They also learnt about the importance to look at a person's Qi color, the 'brightness' or 'inner glow' of an individual. Joey explained that this is the highest level in Mian Xiang and should not be confused as aura.

The fun part of this workshop, much like all Mian Xiang courses, was its interactive approach, where participants are encouraged to practice simple face reading with each other throughout the session in order for them to grasp the techniques faster. Of course, no one is immune to the laughter that always ensues during the practical session.

Although the workshop does not teach all that is to know about face reading, the participants had learnt some essential facial health detection skills they can apply immediately to help them identify the state of their own well-being and those of their loved ones.

To go in-depth into Face Reading, sign up for the next Mian Xiang Mastery course.
