On early Sunday morning, January 11, the Raffles Convention Centre was transformed into a central location that was abuzz with activity. Joey Yap's Feng Shui and Astrology seminar was taking place at the Padang & Collyer Halls, and people were trickling in from early morning. The general level of enthusiasm and energy was high, and it was a moment to savour.
Long-time fans and new ones, beginners to Feng Shui and seasoned practitioners, those from Singapore and those from abroad all converged at the Convention Centre to hear Joey speak on the Feng Shui and Astrology forecast for 2009.
Seats were filled to the brim from the moment the hall was made available to the participants, and there was a need for the organisers to add in more seats to accommodate the large and growing crowd. The crowd that turned up was much larger than the crowd expected – and this added to the general excitement of the proceedings!
Joey then took to the stage to a round of warm and roaring applause. The beginning segment of the talk was focused on the industry outlook for 2009, in which Joey broke down for the audience the professional industries likely to do well, or not so well, during 2009. This was given from the perspective of the Five Elements.
Then, Joey provided the participants with the BaZi outlook for the year. While participants were provided with informational booklets, many were seen to be diligently taking down notes. There was a short break in between, and a chance for the audience members to play a short game and try their hand at winning some of the cool gifts on offer.
The final segment before lunch was focused on Feng Shui influences for the North sector. As the most dangerous star, the #5 Yellow Star, flies into the North sector for 2009, Joey explained to participants how to use the Flying Stars and Annual Stars chart for their respective properties.
This was followed by the lunch break, which provided an excellent opportunity for the participants to browse some of the offerings in the booths set up outside the seminar hall. Many were familiar with the Mastery Academy staff and took the time to exchange pleasantries, while others were eager to obtain copies of Joey Yap's Feng Shui and Astrology books for 2009, or just curious to learn more about his upcoming events.
After the lunch break, there was an opportunity for another game before Joey commenced talking about Chinese Astrology for 2009. Joey showed the participants how they could derive or plot their BaZi charts as shown in their informational booklets. Those of whom who came prepared with their BaZi charts printed out at home breathed a sigh of relief during this part! Joey then launched into a detailed breakdown for each individual Animal sign, starting off with the Ox. He highlighted the Annual Lucky and Unlucky Stars for each of the signs.
This section was also made all the more exciting with the Face Fortune reading. In this part, Joey explained how certain parts of the year are able to affect certain parts of your face, depending on your Astrology sign. Those parts of your face correspond to different aspects of your life, as observed in Face Reading. A true eye-opener, and many were seen to be quickly scribbling down notes!
A short break followed, but most participants were eager to get back for the final segment of the seminar. This was all about Feng Shui solutions and remedies (principles and techniques) that primarily involved Good and Bad Dates. For example, Joey explained certain good dates on which one could commence business after Chinese New Year, and the Auspicious Stars present on those dates. At the same time, he also highlighted certain Bad Dates to avoid. There was also a focus on Good Dates to observe for certain specific situations, such as for people who have bought a new house and realise that the Main Door is in the North Sector (with the #5 Yellow present this year).
After the final segment, there was a book signing session that provided seminar participants with an opportunity to get their books signed by Joey. Many were very keen and excited to exchange a few words with him, or even to take some pictures with him!
Joey's dynamic presentation style kept the audience glued to their seats and gave them an inclusive, informative forecast guide for 2009, year of the Earth Ox. Participants left the seminar armed with the information needed to try to make their 2009 a successful and thriving year.
