Joey Yap shares the stage with foreign experts, at the 1st Festival of Mind 2007...graced by the Honorable Prime Minister, YAB Dato' Seri Abdullah Haji Ahmad Badawi and other VIPs! (October 25th - 28th, 2007)
Officiated by the Honorable Prime Minister of Malaysia, YAB Dato' Seri Abdullah Haji Ahmad Badawi, and graced by the presence of VIPs - including UTAR chairman and former Malaysian Chinese Association (MCA) President, Tun Ling Liong Sik, present MCA President and Housing & Local Development Minister, YAB Dato' Seri Ong Ka Ting, Terengganu Menteri Besar (Chief Minister) YAB Datuk Seri Idris Jusoh, and Deputy Finance Minister, YAB Dato' Dr. Ng Yen Yen - the Festival of Minds was a high-profile event featuring an international ensemble of experts - including Singaporean motivational speaker, Adam Khoo and South African hypnotherapist and psychotherapist, Terry Winchester. Each speaker/expert, a specialist in his or her own field, presented an array of self-motivational and mind-mastery topics, ranging from 'Master Your Life through the Power of Your Mind', to 'Intuitive Intelligence'.
On Day 1, Joey warmed his audience up to the field of Chinese Metaphysics with his maiden topic, 'Face & Destiny: Understanding Yourself & Others'. Introducing, before proceeding to demonstrate the numerous, versatile applications of the ancient art of Face Reading (Mian Xiang), the lecture hall was packed to the brim - as the organizers scrambled to set up a live-video feed, which streamed Joey's presentation to another room...equally filled to capacity.
Day 2 saw Joey touching on 'Feng Shui for Wealth, Education & Career', with many amongst the audience consisting of businesspeople, entrepreneurs, academics and students; judging by the way they approached Joey to introduce themselves afterwards, and pose him their questions. And as the crowd surrounding Joey began to gradually disperse; those who remained were overheard asking about further means to use Feng Shui to enhance their career, wealth, relationships and health prospects - to which he gladly obliged.
The lecture hall and adjacent room (with the live-video feed) remained packed for the last 2 days of the Festival, especially as Joey took to the stage on Day 3 to share with participants 'BaZi: Your Destiny & Career', where he showed how one can maximize the opportunities that await one in life, with knowledge of one's Destiny Code, or BaZi. There was no lack of enthusiasm, nor did the crowd diminish in numbers, when Mastery Academy Senior Consultant, Sherwin Ng, spoke on 'Date Selection: Doing the Right Thing, at the Right Time' on the Festival's final day.
It was indeed heartening to see a considerable interest in classical Chinese Metaphysics, if the magnitude of people approaching Joey and Sherwin to pose them their questions, and learn more about Feng Shui, Mian Xiang, BaZi and Date Selection (Ze Ri) was any indicator to go by. For their part, Joey and Sherwin were greatly honored to be presented with yet another opportunity to share the stage with other world-class speakers (albeit specialists in other fields) - and provided a platform to propagate knowledge of Chinese Metaphysics to a wider audience from all walks and backgrounds of life.
Needless to say, all's well that ends well, and the same may indeed be said of the Festival of Minds 2007!
