The grand opening of Harris Book Store, a sister company of Popular Book Store in Johor Bahru was officiated by YB Dato’ Seri Ong Ka Ting. In conjunction with this launch, Joey Yap was invited to give a Feng Shui and Astrology 2006 presentation on the 20th of January 2006. What a great way to officiate the opening of a bookstore!
Held at the Center Court, Jaya Jusco Shopping Complex, the crowd began forming even before Joey took to the stage. By the time it was came around for him to speak, there was already an expectant, eager crowd looking to hear from him. Some had come from as far as Muar and Batu Pahat to listen to him and others who had read his books were also happy to be able to meet him in person.
Joey spoke about the Feng Shui for the year of the Fire Dog and also about the various influences the year would have for persons born under particular Chinese Animal Zodiac signs. Naturally, everyone was interested to know how they and their loved ones would fare, so they quickly took down notes – others took the easy route out and bought his book - Feng Shui and Astrology for 2006.
In the spirit of the Chinese New Year, Joey also threw in some bonus tips on Mian Xiang, which never fails to get the crowds attention. The ladies were keen to know when will they find their knight in shinning armor and the men wanted to know if they would go far in their careers or if their business would prosper this year.
After the Q&A session, Joey then proceed to the brand new Harris Book Store where a booth had been set up for him to talk more about his new books- Feng Shui and Astrology for 2006 as well as the Mini Feng Shui Compass. Many who bought the book at Harris bookstore also took this opportunity to get him to sign their books and catch up with Joey.
