A little drizzle in the morning stopped no one in the entourage in our journey to the next destination, Zhengzhou. Zhengzhou is the capital of Henan province and is one of the most rapidly growing city in China. From Zhengzhou, we travelled by bus to the magnificent Qing Long Shan - a cluster of fascinating nature formations that consist of lush green mountains, swirling mountain ranges and clear pool water.
Qing Long Shan, which means Green Dragon Mountain, is aptly named as the entire area is shaded in a lovely palette of green when seen from afar or from the top. Dato' Joey led us to this breath-taking attraction to show us the type of Qi in the entire area and to find its Meridian Spot, if there is one!
At the entrance of Qing Long, Dato' Joey pointed out the "Fairy Seat Formation" that is locking in the Qi Mouth. The "Fairy Seat Formation" is a type of Fire Mountain which only exists when there is a spiritual place nearby.
We were to hike to Ci Yun Temple, located further inside the mountains, from the main entrance, where we would locate the meridian spot that produces this holy and spiritual environment. The Qi emitted from this meridian spot had attracted pilgrims, healers, monks and hermits to come here to study, meditate or contemplate, and later set up their own temple to spread the knowledge of Buddhism.
According to our the local people, Ci Yun Temple means 'Merciful Cloud Temple', a place where people come together to learn Buddhism. Ci Yun Temple is actually the first temple in China, but the current building structure has actually been rebuilt as the original building had suffered damages.
Upon our arrival, some of students were overly anxious to get to Temple, to ensure that we had enough time to see all the Feng Shui formations. Students who had visited Qing Long Shan on the last Feng Shui Excursion with Dato Joey in 2010 were also eager to get to the Temple as they were looking forward to meditating in the Temple and absorbing the pure Qi from the meridian spot. Dato' Joey reassured everyone that there will be enough time to do both.
As we made our way toward Ci Yun Temple, we made many stops along the way as Dato' Joey pointed out in detail all the different Feng Shui landforms that led to the creation of such a spiritual place. The natural landforms were amazing. No words could describe how amazing it feels to be on a site with REAL Feng Shui energies.
As we started going down the hill toward the temple, Dato' Joey showed us the many layers of water ways called the "Intercrossing of Dragon and Tiger", in the area. There is also an internally curving road that forms the "Nine Curves Water" formation and if we looked across from the entrance, where there is an external Fairy Seat Formation, there is a similar Fire Mountain in the internal natural formation of the mountain. The rocky Fire Mountain around this area indicates that this is a good quality "Fire Dragon".

As we walked further, Dato' Joey showed us the incoming dragon that encircles the whole Qing Long Shan area. This is the "Recoiled Dragon" formation. Qi collects at the centre of this formation. At this point, Dato' Joey pointed out that the mountain here, although branching out and moving and possessing a crossing of water, does not form a meridian spot, because it does not have a bright hall. This kind of mountain only functions as the embrace and protection around the area. With the spiral formation, the whole area of Qing Long Shan actually collects water in its centre. This type of water formation is called the "Heavenly Heart Water" Formation. Dato' Joey says that whenever we see the Heavenly Heart Water Formation, we know that the meridian spot is nearby.

We started walking downhill again, and Dato' Joey explained that the incoming dragon that goes down and raises it head is ready to release it veins. Looking outward there is also a "Fairy Playing the Drum Formation" formed by a slanted-headed and a rounded-drum-like shape mountains. As we approached the temple, there are two "Nobleman under the Canopy" formation. All land formation is usually formed in a structural way. One of the students, Lily Lau, spotted the Crane Knee formation which functions to send the vein out in a certain direction, in this case, toward the "Praying Palm" formation.
The a Praying Palm formation is right outside the temple, and we come to with water going across it, indicating that Qi collects in this area. The water forms the "Lotus Rising from the Jade Pond" formation. When the Praying Palm and Lotus Rising from the Pond forms on the Heavenly Heart (water formation), it produces a formation also known as the "Jade Hall Nobleman" not so far away from Ci Yun temple. This indicates a superior meridian spot with spiritual influence.
At Ci Yun Temple, we were given ample time to look around the area and find the meridian spots. We regrouped at the highest point of the temple. Some students have already started meditating, while others were absorbing the Qi of the area by sitting on the rock which releases the dragon's vein.
Dato' Joey explained that the statue of Mahjushuri located in the shrine up right here is directly facing toward the direction where the dragon releases its vein. The open space outside this temple near the vein is the meridian spot. There is a clipper shaped embrace on both sides of the meridian spot.
Around this spot students discover that they were able to easily enter their 'Sage Mode' (alpha state of mind) while meditating, because the environment supports spiritual enlightenment.
Once again, Dato' Joey gave us a bonus and informed us that we were once more in the best place and time to make a wish and meditate. Using the QiMen Chart, we located the special formations to enhance our prayers and wishes.
On the way back to the hotel, we were sharing our experience of Qing Long Shan. Many people felt very emotional, while others felt at peace and some even felt spiritual enlightenments. This is testament to the quality of the Qi of the mountain. It had indeed been a privilege to experience the magnificence of this mountain and learn some its secrets.
This is by far, the BEST experience we've ever had as students of Feng Shui. We feel fortunate and luck to have been able to experience the real energies of a Feng Shui formation.
